Overview
2012 - Film
We introduced Frank White's concept of "The Overview Effect" to the world through our short film "Overview" (2012), which garnered over 8 million unique views online. The film's success made the concept ubiquitous in our culture. Business leaders and environmentalists, from Richard Branson to David Attenborough, use it to promote an understanding of our interconnectedness with each other and the natural world.
Viewed by millions.
Overview quickly became one of the most watched short documentary on Vimeo.
It introduced the concept of the Overview Effect to the world.
Planetary
2015 - Film
Our feature-length documentary 'Planetary' (2015) premiered at SXSW and was exhibited at over thirty festivals worldwide before being distributed by Vimeo as an original production. The film gathered perspectives from a diverse cast of astronauts, thinkers, and scientists to explore the meaning of 'being of the planet.' We filmed over four years across forests and cities on five continents, presenting a visual feast similar to influential films like 'Baraka' and 'Koyanisqaatsi.'

The visuals, the vast majority filmed by our crew, wash over the viewer creating a meditative experience.
Constellation
2016 - Present — XR + Film
We later joined astronaut Ron Garan in co-founding Constellation, an organisation born from the idea of mobilising a diverse group of astronauts from different backgrounds and ethnicities to promote learning from space and work for social good. Through our films and in-person events, this coalition communicates messages of interdependence, international cooperation, and long-term thinking.
We have engaged with over 50 astronauts, finding Astronauts with diverse backgrounds who can represent the world. We have filmed 35 of them as part of our Constellation Archive.
Creating real impact.
'Call To Earth' was screened at the opening ceremony of the COP21 conference in Paris to world leaders. It featured 20+ astronauts recounting their experience of seeing the Earth from space, and set the tone for the climate conference. A follow-up piece was produced for COP26 in Glasgow, in collaboration with ActionAid.
NASA Big Screen.
Impactful Presentations.
We worked with a core group of astronauts to deliver an immersive, emotive and educational presentation. Notable venues included the UN and the National Geographic Explorer's Conference.
Orbital
2024 — XR
Orbital represents our most technically ambitious project to date—a film created for COSM's ultra-high-resolution LED domes in purpose-built entertainment venues. This epic animated journey takes audiences from the Big Bang to the flourishing of life on Earth and into Low Earth Orbit, guided by astronauts who have experienced the awe of our place in the universe.
As the first 24K resolution film, "Orbital" has become a viral sensation, shared by millions on social media, and consistently sells out at COSM sites in Los Angeles and Dallas. The film won the prestigious Producers' Guild of America Innovation Award and the Lumiere Award for Best Location-Based Entertainment, two of the highest honours available to Immersive experiences.
The Overview Effect For All.
To make our vision a reality, we teamed up with COSM, whose purpose-built 24K LED dome technology was key in creating immersion and emotional impact. The ambition was to create a hyperreal experience of the Overview Effect.
Using abstract animation, the audience is immersed in 'Lumen Space', where everything is constructed with points of light.
Technical challenges met.
Award Winning.
Orbital won the Producers' Guild of America Innovation Award, one of the highest honours for an immersive project. The win was attributed to the effective translation of complex concepts to an immersive space, as well as the intense technical challenges of putting together an animated film on such a new and monstrous screen.
A New Reality
2027 — XR + Film
A New Reality is an ambitious and audacious Film and XR project that we have been developing since 2016. The project explores the foundations of a Planetary Civilization, and what a potential human civilization could look like in the future.
These pivotal concepts are explored through the lens of sociology and design - giving the audience a clear view of the foundations of a Planetary Civilization.
Imagining a Solar Future.
Using worldbuilding techniques and tapping into expert knowledge, the project will explore the foundation for a positive vision for human civilization in the future.
Immersive.
An immersive product across headsets and location based activations will be produced simultaneously.
Blue Marble
2028 — Television
In 2020, we began developing "Blue Marble," a nonfiction TV series that presents a vision for humanity's positive future through the personal experiences of astronauts from around the world. The project draws an analogy between the astronaut experience in space and our shared work addressing ecological challenges to maintain the planet's health.
